500k€ man Alexis Sanchez
In his first interview after signing for Manchester United, Alexis Sanchez seemed delighted to be playing for Jose Mourinho. Sanchez expressed his gratitude towards Arsenal boss and fans and wished them the best for their future.
Now that the transfer saga has finally come to an end, Sanchez can now focus well in his game as he finds a club that meets his ambition and desires. Although, Manchester United’s recent slump could be worry for him. United have fallen 15 points behind the league leaders Manchester City. United face City on March 15 at Etihad which could be a good chance for United to cut the gap and build further momentum.
With the new Cup system applied by UEFA, Alexis Sanchez is also eligible to play in the Champions League for Manchester United. Sanchez had appeared for Arsenal in UEFA Europa League group stage matches. With his impressive form and abilities, Manchester United boss is feeling more tension as the pressure for silverware grows.
With a hectic 4 months of the season at hand, Sanchez will be a huge asset for United for their league title push and Champions League ambitions. Sanchez can operate as a Winger on both sides and play as the main Striker up front as well as a second striker. He is less likely to feature in the same position as in his Arsenal days in Left wing. The position is occupied and closely contested between Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Sanchez is likely to feature on the Right side vacated by departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal.
The move of Alexis Sanchez to United could also be beneficiary for Romelu Lukaku as he looks for strong showing from his team mates as United have blanked in 3 out of last 5 games. Lukaku who has not scored a league goal since late November hopes that arrival of Sanchez would help the team going forward. United have joint most shots in the league however their conversion rate has been something to worry about. United have a strong record defensively this season and with reinforcement made they can be force to be reckoned with.
